The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) is open to candidates from all educational backgrounds, and a college degree from a recognized university is the minimum educational qualification required to appear for the UPSC CSE. The marks obtained in graduation do not play a direct role in the selection process for the UPSC CSE.
The UPSC CSE selection process involves a written examination and an interview. The marks obtained in the written examination and the interview are considered for determining the final merit. The marks obtained in graduation do not form a part of the written examination or the interview.
However, having a good academic record can be an indicator of a candidate’s ability to learn and perform well, and it may be considered as a factor in the selection process. A good academic record can also demonstrate a candidate’s interest in and aptitude for a particular subject, which can be beneficial if the candidate chooses that subject as an optional paper in the UPSC CSE.
It’s worth noting that the UPSC Civil Services Examination is a highly competitive examination and the marks obtained in graduation are not the only determinant of success in the exam. The candidate’s knowledge, understanding of the subject, and performance in the written examination and the interview are the key factors that determine success in the UPSC CSE.
