Reservation Criteria for Delhi University Hostels
Yes, just like in admissions there are reservation criteria in the hostel seats as well. 15% of the total seats in the hostel are reserved for SC students while the reservation quota for ST students is 7.5% and for Pwd students the percentage of seats reserved is 3%.
Hotel Admission Policy
All the college Hostels under Delhi University follow a strict merit policy when it comes to allotting hostel seats to the students. Just like the admissions, hostel seats are also allotted on the basis of the merit score of a particular student. Students belonging to other states and Union Territories other than the Delhi or NCR region are allowed to fill the form for hostels seats. Moreover, every college has different criteria regarding the number of states reserved for particular courses.
It is to be noted that the number of Hostel seats in Delhi University is very limited so one needs to fulfill each and every formality along with documents required to reserve their seats.
Procedure for Submitting Application
The application forms for the Hotel admissions are available on the official website of the College or students can avail it from the college as well. A certain application fee also has to be paid by the applicants at the time of submission.
After submission of applications, the college and hostel authority scrutinize all the applications received for the hotel admissions and create a list of shortlisted candidates. The Authority also prepares one waiting list for the students who can avail seats if any shortlisted student fails to proceed further. Shortlisted candidates then required to verify their documents and have to sit for a general interview conducted by the authorities. After the successful completion of document verification and interview, the selected students need to deposit the security to claim their seats in the respective hostels.
