The number of attempts allowed for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) depends on the category of the candidate. Generally, candidates who belong to the General category are allowed to attempt the JEE a maximum of three times in consecutive years. However, candidates who belong to the OBC-NCL category are allowed to attempt the JEE a maximum of four times in consecutive years, and candidates who belong to the SC, ST, PwD category are allowed to attempt the JEE a maximum of five times in consecutive years.
