The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) are a group of premier engineering and technology universities located in India. There are currently 23 IITs in India, established and managed by the government of India through the Institutes of Technology Act, 1961. They are located in various states across India, such as Maharashtra, Delhi, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal. The IITs are considered to be among the top engineering institutions in India and are known for their high-quality education, research, and innovation. They offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs in various fields of engineering, technology, and science. They also have collaborations with international universities and research organizations.
