The percentage required for admission to Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) can vary depending on the year, the number of applicants, and the cut off marks. However, typically, students need to have a high percentage of marks in their class 12th board exams to be eligible for admission to IITs.
To be eligible for JEE Advanced, the second level of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) process, students are required to have scored a minimum of 75% marks in their class 12th board exams. For students belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/PwD), the minimum percentage required is usually 65%.
It’s important to note that these are the minimum eligibility criteria, and the actual cut off marks may be higher depending on the number of applicants and the difficulty level of the examination. Therefore, it is advisable to aim for a percentage that is higher than the minimum eligibility criteria to increase your chances of getting into the IIT of your choice.
It’s also important to keep in mind that the percentage is just one of the many criteria for getting into an IIT, along with the JEE score, so it’s important to do well in both.
