When it comes to entrance getting admission into both IIT as well as IISc is tough. Key differences that are there in these institutes are-
1. IITs are more about technology and technical enhancements while IISc is all about the researches and scientific capabilities of the nation.
2. IITs are about startups, technologies, excitement while IISc is a bit sober with a peaceful and studious environment.
3. IITs are more about undergraduate courses mainly B.Techs, while IISc is popular for masters and doctorate programs in almost all the departments of science.
4. Placements of IITs are well known for their numbers and packages while placements in IISc are also but that is more for the posts of researchers at the top scientific positions of the organizations.
5. There are 23 IITs in India but IISc is only one, so the number of IITians is far more than the number of IISc students in the country.
6. IIT students even do MBAs from IIMs and some are successful entrepreneurs while students from IISc go in the field of research and become scientists and professors or heads of departments in government science institutions.
There are basic distinction points between IIT IISc and now you have to decide which is tough and which suits you more as per your capabilities.
