DU Connections

There is no comparison between these two prestigious universities, both DU and BHU have their own benefits and methodologies. One is famous for its exposure, corporate experiences, jobs while the other is famous for its peaceful campus and academics. So it completely depends on you what you are looking for but both are top central universities where students try really hard to get admission so wherever you go, it can assure you for a promising and bright career ahead.

Let’s compare both the universities on the basis of certain parameters-

Campus- BHU is famous for its large campus which is spread into an area of 3960 acres making it the largest campus in Asia while in DU there is no particular campus, although we have divided some colleges into North and South Campus as per their locations, still they are located in different parts of the city and there are some off-campus colleges as well, which we don’t generally consider while talking about campuses. If we talk about the size of colleges in DU, yes they cover a decent area which covers almost all the facilities including big playgrounds, libraries, etc that should be there in any college.

Faculties- In Faculties, the quality of DU is completely falling down, some teachers are not very serious related to the syllabus and students. This is happening because of the lack of quality checks, supervision over DU teachers. In BHU the old professors are very good and very conscious about the quality of education they are providing but new teachers don’t take that much care about the education and understanding of students.

Location- Location is the main factor making DU better than all the universities of India, the exposure of Delhi and nearby metropolitan cities like Noida, Gurgaon is making students completely ready for the real-life challenges. You can do internships, training while studying in college while studying in your college while all these things are but less in BHU as the city is not that much developed in corporate terms when we compare it with Delhi.

Academics- Both DU and BHU are popular for some of their streams like BHU is a better option for BSc students while DU is a better option when it comes to commerce courses. In Arts, BHU has an edge in subjects like Sanskrit, Philosophy while DU is popular for its economics and English courses. DU has one of the Best Management Institute FMS, while BHU has decent Management institute IMS BHU. There is no comparison of IIT BHU with any of the Engineering colleges of DTU. So both the universities are neck to neck when it comes to academics.

Hostel Facilities- Hostels are better in BHU because a majority of the DU colleges do not provide hostel facilities to students but in BHU if you are talking admission with decent grades then you will get a well-maintained hostel easily.

Politics- DU gives so much importance to students’ politics and has proper boards and parties within the University so there are high chances of getting some of our future politicians from DU but there is no future of politics in BHU.

Placements- Placements are slightly better for all undergrad commerce and arts courses in DU comparing them with BHU, as we cannot compare the rest of the stream lines as BHU has one IIT and we have FMS for management studies.
