The salary of IITians (graduates of the Indian Institutes of Technology) can vary widely depending on factors such as the field of study, level of experience, and location of employment. Generally, IITians with a degree in engineering or computer science tend to have some of the highest starting salaries, with many graduates earning six-figure salaries in their first year of employment. However, salaries can also vary depending on the specific company or organization that an IITian is employed by. Additionally, many IITians go on to pursue higher education or start their own companies, which can also affect their earning potential.

Yes, there are many colleges in India that do not require the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) for admission. The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are among the most prestigious engineering colleges in India and they require JEE for admission. However, there are many other engineering colleges in India that do not require JEE, including state government-run colleges and private colleges.

Other than engineering, there are many other undergraduate programs such as Medicine, Architecture, Design, B.Pharma, B.Plan, B.Arch, B.A, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Tech-Dual Degree, B.Tech-M.Tech Dual Degree etc.

Admission to these colleges is done through various entrance exams like NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) for Medicine, NATA(National Aptitude Test in Architecture) for Architecture, and some colleges also offer admission based on the merit of the 10+2 or equivalent examination.

It is recommended to check with the college of your interest for their specific admission requirements.

Added an answer on January 28, 2023 at 8:06 pm

It is not appropriate to say that one profession is "best" over another. Both doctors and engineers make valuable contributions to society and have their own unique set of skills and expertise. It is important to respect and appreciate the different roles and responsibilities of each profession.

It is difficult to say which branch is the lowest in IITs as the enrollment and acceptance rate for each branch varies from year to year and also from institute to institute. Also, the popularity of a branch is subjective, as what one student may consider as the “lowest” branch, another student may find to be the most interesting and challenging.

However, it’s worth mentioning that some branches such as Agricultural and Food Engineering, Textile Engineering and Fibre Science, Architecture, and Design are offered by very few IITs, so the number of students who opt for these branches is relatively low compared to other popular branches such as Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering.

It’s also important to note that the popularity of a branch does not necessarily indicate its level of difficulty or the career opportunities it offers. It’s always recommended to research and explore the different branches offered and choose the one that aligns with your interests, aptitude and career goals.
