There are so many ways through which you can definitely increase your chances of getting placement from your college-

1- Work on your communication- Communication is the first thing that will help you at the time of the interview, if you can not represent yourself well, the interviewer will not give you the second chance to show your caliber so communication skill is must for all types of interviews.

2- Work on your skills- All the students of your course will end up taking the same degree. the interview will surely get impressed if you carry additional skills with you. This skill can be anything related to any software, computer, foreign language, etc.

3- Internships- Internships are good for CV as well, because as a fresher when you sit for interviews, you don’t have any type of experience which you can mention. So internships can fill the empty blank space of your CV. Moreover, interviewers do ask questions about your work and experience during internships so that is your time to take your interview in the direction that you want and impress your recruiter.

4- Projects- This can be helpful for those who are in technical fields, start working on your project from the very first year so that you can display it in your interview. It can be anything related to your field an application, a website. It will help you to stand out and will help you to impress your employers by the practical experiences and ideas you hold

Yes, Delhi University colleges offer decent placement packages for many undergraduate courses but still, the popularity of your college and the course you are pursuing majorly impacts the placement opportunities you will be getting. I passed out this year from one of the average colleges and I know about the mess going on for placements in average colleges. In these recent times of Covid, placement opportunities are already very less and each and every student is ready to give online interviews so competition is really very high. Placement cells of average colleges really struggle very hard to get good companies on their campus but as the opportunities are very less so they end up inviting companies for Sales and Business Development Roles where students are not that much interested.

If you are studying in a very good college or Top 20 colleges, then it can be smooth for you to get a good company like Big4, or Foreign Bank giving good CTCs but competition is there as well so you really to work really hard on your skills and personality from the very first year. So try giving your best at the time of interview and if you still don’t get any opportunity from your college then don’t get disheartened, there are many jobs outside the campus as well, you just need to give your best at the time of interview.

Yes, college name does have an impact on the placement packages, but the major impact is of course you are pursuing. Courses like Bcom(Hons), Economics (Hons), and BSc computer science have the best placement opportunities. Top companies visit like BCG, D Shaw, McKinsey& Co visit some top colleges of DU like SRCC, LSR, Hansraj, etc. to pick only a few students with very high placement packages, and that only boosts the placement records of these colleges.
When it comes to average or above-average colleges, yes the packages are not that high but the number of students is definitely high so these placements records are not a very good source to analyze or judge the performance of a college.

Anyway, as you have asked these are some top placement records(Highest Packages of 19-20) of DU Colleges

    1. Lady Shri Ram College of Commerce (37.8 Lakhs)
    2. Shri Ram College of Commerce (31 Lakhs)
    3. St. Stephens College (22 Lakhs)
    4. Hansraj College (20.5 Lakhs)
    5. Venkateshwar College (15 Lakhs)
