    The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts the Civil Services Examination (CSE) in India for recruitment to various Civil Services, including the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS). The CSE consists of two stages: the preliminary examination and the main examination.

    For the preliminary examination, the high scoring subjects are generally considered to be General Studies Paper 1 (GS1), which covers Indian Heritage and Culture, History, and Geography, and General Studies Paper 2 (GS2), which covers Governance, International Relations, and Social Justice.

    For the main examination, the high scoring subjects are Essay, General Studies Paper 1 (GS1), General Studies Paper 2 (GS2), General Studies Paper 3 (GS3) and General Studies Paper 4 (GS4)

    Subjects like Anthropology, Public Administration, and Political Science and International Relations are considered to be the high scoring optional subjects.
