The salary of an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer varies depending on their rank and position. The basic pay scale for an IAS officer starts at Level 10 (Rs. 56,100) and goes up to Level 16 (Rs. 2,25,000) in the pay matrix as per 7th CPC.

Upon joining the service, an IAS officer will typically start at the entry-level position of Assistant Secretary and will progress through the ranks of Junior Time Scale, Senior Time Scale, Junior Administrative Grade, Selection Grade, and Higher Administrative Grade.

In addition to the basic pay, IAS officers also receive various allowances and perks such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), and other benefits such as official residence, staff car, and medical facilities.

It’s also important to note that apart from the salary, IAS officers are eligible for various other benefits such as pension, gratuity, and medical facilities, which will be very beneficial in the long run.

It’s also worth noting that the salary of IAS officer may vary from state to state, as there are different pay scales in different states
