The order in which you study the subjects for the UPSC exam can depend on your personal strengths and weaknesses, as well as your schedule. However, generally it is recommended to start with the subjects that you are weaker in or find more challenging, as it will give you more time to build your knowledge and skills in those areas. Here are some suggestions for which subjects to start first for the UPSC exam:

1- Indian Polity and Governance: This subject is considered a foundation for other subjects, as it provides an understanding of the Indian Constitution and the political system.

2- Economic and Social Development: This subject covers important issues related to the Indian economy, such as poverty, unemployment, and economic growth.

3- Current Affairs: It is important to stay up-to-date with current events as the UPSC exam often tests on current affairs. Start with reading newspapers and magazines, and make sure to read current affair articles and editorials.

4- International Relations: This subject covers important issues related to India’s relations with other countries, including foreign policies and diplomacy.

5- Environment, Ecology and Climate change: This subject covers important issues related to the environment and ecology, such as conservation, pollution and climate change.

Remember, it is also important to build your foundation in General Science as it is a cross-cutting subject that comes in almost all the papers. Additionally, you should also practice previous year’s UPSC question papers and read the recommended standard books as you progress through your studies.
