To be eligible to take the Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT JEE), students must meet the following criteria:
1- Age Limit: Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1996, if they belong to the general category. There are age relaxations for candidates from reserved categories.
2- Educational Qualification: Candidates should have passed their Class 12th or equivalent examination in the year 2021 or 2022, or should be appearing for the same in the year 2022.
3- Number of Attempts: Candidates are allowed to attempt the JEE (Advanced) a maximum of two times in consecutive years.
4- Appeared for JEE Main: Candidates should have appeared for the JEE Main 2022 examination and should be within the top 2,50,000 (all categories included) in Paper-1 of JEE Main 2022.
5- Marks Requirement: Candidates should have scored a minimum of 75% marks (65% for reserved categories) in the Class 12th or equivalent examination.
6- Nationality: Candidates should be Indian citizens or PIO (Person of Indian Origin) or OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card holders.
